From Ciudad Guayana to Asturias

I was born in Ciudad Guayana, Venezuela, a city of iron and river light, and trained as an architect before giving my career to interior design. For more than a decade I have designed retail stores, brand corners and furniture for companies in Spain and abroad: drawing plans, modelling every piece in 3D, and following each design from its first pencil line to the finished space, learning that a room is never just walls, it is a mood you step into.

Life carried me across the ocean, and today I live and work in Gijón, Asturias, on the green northern coast of Spain, between the sea and the mountains, where Maison Caligari was born.

A Lifelong Fascination with the Gothic

For as long as I can remember, I have been in love with the dark and the beautiful. As a child I would lose myself in pictures of ancient cathedrals, their stone arches climbing like prayers, their stained glass bleeding colour onto cold floors. I dreamed of haunted houses and candlelit halls, and grew up finding myself in Gothic music, fashion, literature and art. What others called gloomy, I always saw as refined, romantic and deeply alive: proof that shadow is not the absence of light, but its most tender companion.

Maison Caligari is where that lifelong fascination finally has a home. Into every Gothic bed, dining table, mirror and cabinet I pour the discipline of an architect and the heart of a Gothic soul, so the rooms you live in can hold a little of that candlelit wonder too.
